Just the name sounds cool, but a chance to see WWI war birds in the sky is something that is hard for me to turn down. The event is hosted in a field next to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force with the museum as a backdrop. Manned aircraft took turns with model craft of all sizes and descriptions. An amazing smorgasbord of history and color. If you are anywhere near a buff, you would have been in seventh heaven here. The museum also recently opened it’s new wing. I didn’t get a chance to go in and see what was new, but you can bet it’s on my bucket list for the near future.
Here’s a gallery of shots from today. See if you can tell the difference between the RC models and the real thing.
